awareness became widespread.
If you have never owned a
bracelet before, then the time has
come.
Different
bracelets have different effects. Popular designers are
now favouring leather, steel, wood and gold, however
there are many more types available. The look that
wearing one achieves will depend on the style and
material you choose. Whether you want something that
looks great in formal situations and at work, or whether
you are looking for something more casual, there is sure
to be a men’s bracelet for you.
Men’s
Bracelets Buying Guide
Gold and silver
chain style bracelets give a more traditional look, but
if you are after something more modern, the steel,
titanium, and tungsten are the metals of choice. These
alternative metals are fast becoming the new standard in
men’s jewelry.
The classic chain
bracelet features a link design, and is very similar to
the design used for necklaces. There are several
different varieties of these chain bracelets available,
the curb chain and the Figaro chain being the two most
popular. Curb chains consist of oval links, lying flat.
Figaro chains on the other hand have a unique pattern
which consists of three short links followed by one long
link.
If chains are not
your style, you can go for the sturdier looking bangle
type bracelets, which are rigid and
thicker.
Due to being
located near the hands, bracelets will be subject to
quite a bit of damage. Because of this, it is vital that
your bracelet is secured properly. Clasps available
include the hook, spring, lobster claw, and box clasp. If
you are purchasing a gold bracelet, a higher karat might
be a better choice due to the extra durability this
provides.
Fitting Your
Bracelet
Bracelets should
not be fitted too tightly, they should be loose enough so
that a little movement is possible, however not so loose
that it falls off of your wrist. For link type bracelets,
you should be able to slide two fingers between the chain
and the wrist, however nowadays most link type bracelets
will be adjustable. Bangles can fit loose or tight, but
again, should not easily slide off your wrist. Cuff types
are meant to fit tightly, but make sure it doesn’t pinch
your skin.
What happens if
you have put the bracelet on too tightly? Don’t worry –
just relax the muscles, apply some oil, and gently twist
and pull at the bracelet until it slides
off.
How To Choose
The Right Men's Bracelet For You?
If you have a slim
wrist, then you don’t want a big bulky bracelet, as this
will make your wrist seem even slimmer. It is important
to choose something that is proportion to your arm. The
same is true of a thin chain type bracelet – against a
bulky arm, the chain will have very little effect and
will appear almost unnoticeable. Choose a size that best
fits your body’s proportions.
When it comes to
style, your choice will depend upon whether you want an
everyday bracelet or something for special occasions. If you
want something that is suitable for every occasion, then it
is best to stick with the classic gold and silver chain
styles. Beaded and leather type bracelets are not best
suited to formal situations.
